Connect Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants
Connect File Request Pro to an AI assistant that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT, and ask it about your collections in plain language: who still owes you documents, what exactly is missing, which files need review. It can also act for you: send a Workflow request, chase a client, accept or reject a file.
The assistant works through your own account and team. It sees what you see in the dashboard, and every action it takes is one you could take yourself. AI connections are included in every paid plan and during your trial.
Connect your assistant
Use this connector URL:
https://filerequestpro.com/mcp
When you add it, the assistant opens a File Request Pro sign-in page. Log in, check the app name and where you'll be sent back to, then choose Approve. There is no API token to copy.
-
Claude (web, desktop and mobile): add File Request Pro from the connectors directory, or add a custom connector with the URL above.
-
Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http filerequestpro https://filerequestpro.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
-
ChatGPT, Cursor and other clients: add a remote MCP server with the URL above. The client handles sign-in (OAuth) automatically.
The assistant acts on the team you have selected in File Request Pro. To work with another team, switch team in the dashboard first.
Things to ask
- "Which clients haven't sent their documents for the Tax return 2026 workflow?"
- "What is Jane Smith still missing? Send her a reminder and mention the Friday deadline."
- "List the files waiting for my review and show me the ones from Acme Ltd."
- "Send the Onboarding workflow to [email protected], due in two weeks."
- "Move the due date for all overdue requests on the KYC workflow to the end of the month."
- "Duplicate last year's checklist as Tax return 2027."
What the assistant can do
Read: your account and plan, pages, Workflow requests (status, due date, pending items, email history), submissions and form answers, files and temporary download links.
Act: create a request, update a request (due date, contact, status), send a reminder, accept or reject a file, and duplicate a page.
It can't delete pages, requests, submissions or files, edit forms or emails, or change settings.
Safeguards
- Actions that email a client or reject a file are marked as such, so assistants like Claude can ask you before running them.
- A request sent twice within 10 minutes for the same client and page returns the first one, so nobody gets duplicate invitations.
- An assistant can't send a client a reminder if they were emailed in the last 24 hours, including by your scheduled reminders.
- Requests created by an assistant count toward your plan's monthly request limit.
- On plans that include the Activity history, file downloads and reviews appear there as "your name via the assistant's name".
- Information your clients typed or uploaded is treated as data. The assistant is told never to follow instructions found in it.
See or remove connected assistants
Open Settings → AI connections to see each connected assistant and when it was last used. Choose Disconnect to cut off its access immediately. To use it again, connect it again from the assistant.
Troubleshooting
-
"Connecting AI agents is included in every paid plan": your account is on the free plan. Upgrade, then ask again. You don't need to reconnect.
-
The assistant can't find a page or request: check that the right team is selected in File Request Pro. Other members' private pages aren't visible.
-
"Already emailed": the client got an email in the last 24 hours. Wait, or contact them directly.
-
Sign-in loops or fails: disconnect the assistant in Settings → AI connections, remove the connector in the assistant, then add it again.
